ANGELIKI PAPADOPOULOU

Her work is the result of a meditative dialogue with the clay itself

ANGELIKI PAPADOPOULOU - GREECE

Her works fall fully within contemporary expressiveness while maintaining their connection to ancient roots. She is inspired by the tradition of classical Greek archaeological ceramics, where the contours of the figures are the hallmark of their communication. In her work she searches for analogies and similarities that exist in nature, society, science and culture. Her work is the result of a meditative dialogue with clay itself, a creative evolution that brings together all the characteristics of a mature and transcendental creation. Her works can be found in many museum and private collections both in Greece and abroad. She teaches at the Di.K.E.P.A Institute in Pellas, an institution for people with disabilities that develops creative expression and active learning.
Angeliki for years with her art has been highlighting the potential of each young person individually, but at the same time enhancing group work dynamics. Her special kids are very active in so many events locally and nationally. She studied at the School of Ceramics in Thessaloniki, Greece, the State Art Institute for Ceramics in Faenza, Italy, and the Fachhochschule Niederrhein for Ceramic and Porcelain Design in Krefeld, Germany. In 2015, he participated in the "53 Hellenic Ceramic Competition" and won 3rd prize. In 2023 he participated in the II Fratelli Melis International Biennial Prize for Ceramic Art in Bosa, Sardinia, winning 1st prize. Her works have been exhibited in Greece, Europe and Asia. She has been invited to several ceramic symposia in Europe, Africa and Asia.
