EHSAN SHAYEGH - Iran/Italy.

Qanat Series, 2022

Volcanic stone, clay, glaze.

20x100x15 cm

Ehsan Shayegh's work transcends mere theoretical and precise forms, embracing a practical approach. What might look like simple tableware to a casual observer has a deeper meaning. Ehsan dreams with his objects, imagining their obscure origins. His creations are actions, not mere displays, and each piece is a journey through materials and techniques similar to the water systems of ancient Iran. "Qanat" recalls the primitive system that brought life, energy, wonder and mystery. (Luigi Meneghelli)

Ehsan currently resides between-Verona and Tehran. In Tehran he graduated in engineering.
metallurgy with a focus on ceramics and then graduated in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona, where he consolidated his artistic career in Italy. He began by exhibiting his works in 2010 taking part in many individual and group exhibitions. In Eshan, his artistic exploration focuses and siapplies particularly to ceramics and volcanic stone.
The work, in a circle, in some aspects almost metaphysical, allows the viewer to put himself in motion; it tells a personal cosmogony represented by the inorganic materials and the link with water, in a circle of energy, an original link between earth and water, bearer of life, but also a reminder of the problem of global warming and drought, themes that present significantly involving a significant in his artistic research, precisely because of that link between life and art. The work was exhibited in Naples, Lapis Museum - Water Museum Naples "SUBTERRA - The Footprint of Water" December 7, 2023 - June 1, 2024 She participated with some of her works in the International Festival of Women's Ceramics Matres, 2023 in Cuba.
