Egg dance, 2024

Mixed clays with included paperclay. Firing at 950°C

The soil of Trapsan/Creta/Greece is rich in clay. As in Minoan times, large storage vessels (pithoi) are made by hand. My object was modeled by me with clay from Trapsano, Crete. The egg was created from recycled egg carton and shows Mother Earth, who nourishes us, the egg as a symbol of fertility, and the title "Egg Dance" alludes to man's indecision in treating Mother Earth with respect and esteem.
