THIRD PRIZE EX AEQUO
Nutcracking Heritage, 2024
Installation. Semirefractory earth of various colors, engobe, bronze alloy and brass.
This nutcracker, also designed for hazelnuts, almonds, and other hard-shelled seeds, is inspired by primitive life, where collecting seeds played a crucial role in community survival. "Nutcracking Heritage" evokes this ancestral connection, repurposing an ancient gesture through a modern, functional design. The spherical structure and negative core ensure even and precise pressure.
THIRD PRIZE ex aequo to LOREDANA AVAGLIANO for the work "Nutcracking heritage" with the following motivation, "The artist responded to the theme of the competition by making a set of three spherical elements (for breaking walnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds) evocative of the content, creating an effective dialogue between form and function".
