On the river bank, 2024
White earthenware, engobbio, glaze, and opaque crystalline.
I imagined an object modeled on the edge of a river. I thought it should have a practical purpose: that it could flow water into the specially created cuts, holding the catch and harvest and ridding it of sand and impurities. I thought it could keep food fresh by placing the handle between the stones. I drilled holes in the handle so that it could be hung or carried on the shoulder with a passing rope. Such serene living as to allow the reverie of heart and hands in unison.
