Mara has about forty years' experience in working with ceramics; she uses this art to communicate thoughts and emotions, expressing a creative turbulence that manifests itself in socially motivated works. Her motto is. "art is not only beauty, but responsibility."
Mara's works come from observing nature, particularly seeds, with their unusual shapes and surprising textures. Her works such as the Germplasm Banks, composed of urns made from various types of clays, bear the names of plants on the red list of the Italian flora, with the aim of preserving the population's food banks and ensuring the survival of basic crops. Mara has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and events nationally and internationally, winning awards and recognition.
