The large arches, present at the base of the Mater's throne, the logo of the Matres Festival, in reference to the unique porticoes of the city of Cava de' Tirreni, a unicum for southern Italy, are echoed in the choral work presented in the first edition of 2018. The reference is to this city, which saw the birth of the Festival "Matres" also a symbol of territoriality, referring to the famous Matres Matutae of the Archaeological Museum of Capua. Again the arches, made in the work also evoke an ancient women's gallery, an architectural space originally intended to accommodate only women. The women's gallery, and its concept of segregation, is thus finally liberated for the descent into the city of the multitude of women who pass through and populate it. It is the strength and conquest of women to an imaginary matriarchy that is symbolically represented and initiates the development of a new paradigm of human history: "the strength of women," therefore - Matres the City of Women - (Miriam Gipponi)
