Queer Totem, 2024
Molded with stoneware, engobes, glazes, crystalline.
I aim to honor people who do not identify with the gender binarism and rigid dichotomy between sex and sexuality present in modern Western culture. Through reference to primitive cultures, which are more authentic and free, I found inspiration to shape my vision. The sculpture arises from two volumes (cultural binarism) clad in transgender symbolism. These volumes merge giving birth to an inflorescence that is the preciousness of being oneself.
