Genesis, 2022

Shaping of refractory clay on the wheel. Self-made glazes with copper carbonate and silver nitrate. Firing at 950°C.

The egg, as the genesis of the world, represents the center of the four elements of nature: earth, air, water, and fire, without which it would not be possible to create ceramic works. With this sculpture made with the Raku technique, I wanted to represent the cosmic, primordial egg, one half symbolizing the blue sky and the other the golden earth, an icon of prosperity. What amazes me about the egg is the perfect form in its simplicity, in a world so complex and full of chaos.
