EXHIBITION SPACE - InTerra - Funeral ceramic art through time

a link between the world of the living and the world of the dead that was believed to protect the spirit of the deceased as they transitioned to the afterlife

COLLECTIVE EXHIBITION curated by NURIA POZAS

Throughout human history, ceramic funerary urns have played a key role in the burial rituals of various cultures. From prehistory to the present, these urns have been used to hold the ashes of the deceased and to perform burial ceremonies, funeral rituals steeped in symbolism and meaning. For many cultures, death does not represent the end, but rather the beginning of a journey to the afterlife. Funeral urns were considered a link between the world of the living and the dead and were believed to protect the spirit of the deceased as they transitioned to the afterlife.
