BEGINNING COLLABORATIVE WORK - Symbolum under the sky of Naples -
From August 21 to 25, a unique event will be held at Mara D'Arienzo's Bottega Hub, in collaboration with the City of Vietri sul Mare. APS Pandora Artiste Ceramiste, together with the Fondazione San Giuseppe dei Nudi and under the guidance of architect Mauro Improta, presents "Symbolum - Under the sky of Naples." This ambitious project involves the creation of a large art installation that will symbolically reconstruct in contemporary style the dome of the Church of San Giuseppe dei Nudi in Naples, with painted ceramics that recover the tradition of the majolica mantle, typical of southern Italy and the Mediterranean.
The artists/participants in the Matres will devote themselves to the decoration and reworking of the specially prepared shingles to initiate the symbolic reconstruction of the maiolica mantle (embrici/mattonelle) The artists will be able to represent a variety of symbols that connect to both local tradition and universal themes, maintaining a balance between sacred and profane, past and present. A choral and multidisciplinary work, bringing together international artists to create a dialogue between past and present, sacred and profane art, under the sky of Naples. An opportunity to explore the formal and artistic value of the dome, through a universal language that celebrates beauty and peace. An opportunity to participate in a project that represents global collaboration and gender equality, where ceramic art becomes the medium for innovative creative research. The choral proposal was born with the intention of giving life to a new "immersive path" in dialogue between past and present under the beautiful sky of Naples and as a representation of a union between peoples in the spirit of chorality of the Matres Festival itself.https://www.sangiuseppedeinudi.org/
